Don't stand so close to me

First, thank you again for all the comments on the CrossFit Enough post. That thing is getting an awful lot of attention - it's been linked to on CrossFit Watertown, Pioneer Valley CrossFit, CrossFit NYC and Ft. Benning CrossFit, to name a few. It's flattering, and I'm grateful for all the feedback.

The KB cert is going fantastically. We have a great group of people - lots of energy, fun personalities and athletically quick on the uptake. Day one flew by; tomorrow includes a few new skills, lots of review and practice and the final skill test.

A few random thoughts, as I don't have the time or attention span right now for a real post.
  • New Jersey makes some damn good bagels.
  • They were totally Paleo bagels, though.
  • The Guerilla Fitness box is COOL. And I mean that literally - like, NJ in December sans heat cool. (But also "cool" as in huge, packed full of toys and run by some truly talented coaches.)
  • Assisting with me at the KB cert is Jason Kaplan. As in "Rhabdo" Kaplan. As in, 1:53 Fran time Kaplan. More on Jason and his Fran time coming soon. He is one of my new favorite people.
  • Martone used the expression "like a pig looking at a watch" twice.
  • With 23 people wildly swinging big hunks of iron, you REALLY have to be aware of your surroundings.
  • I take perverse pleasure in making the biggest guy in the room work with a purple kettlebell.
  • Keith Wittenstein is, I suspect, stalking me.
  • It is impossible for me to wear a CrossFit t-shirt or sweatshirt without tricking it out in some sort of fashion.
  • I am too heavy for Martone to do a Turkish get-up with me. (Dammit.)
This day has only reinforced my passion for training, kettlebells and most importantly, coaching. I wish I could do this every single weekend.

3 people drop some props (leave a comment here):

Paleo bagels??? Please tell me they exist. I'll go to NJ just for those!
I like your list, especially the purple kettlebell note. Without sounding creepy, yours is my favorite health and fitness blog. You entertain, inspire and educate. You're awesome, Byers!
