Jump rope masochist

Not much time today, since we're heading out to a wedding soon. Decided to work some more double-unders, since I felt like I was on a roll yesterday.

Buy-in:
  • 20 pistols (10L/10R) - barefoot
Workout:
  • 100 DUs (consecutive)
  • Only reps of 8 or more count towards the total
6:12
13/8/19 (PR)/8/14/10/14/9/8 = 103

My highest # of consecutive DUs is 7 (from yesterday), so I officially counted reps of 8 or more. I ended up doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 180 DUs, though, because I had a lot of 4's, 5's, 6's and 7's. Next time, I'll count every rep and see how fast I can do 100.

As I have a "phenomenal propensity for training-related blunt trauma" (my Trainer), of course I whipped myself a few times in the back of the legs (and once in the ass) with my steel cable jump rope. Note to self - wear pants on DU days.

Cash out:
  • 2:00 plank on rings
So, this was not that tough. Plank in a push-up position (even on rings) is SO much easier than the yoga-style plank (on the elbows). Not sure why, but I need to work the elbow plank a lot more because I can't hold that for 2:00.

2 people drop some props (leave a comment here):

Thanks for cruisin' by my blog. Yes, I prefer my blog for sure. But I keep the other going now to get input from folks once in a while. I'll have to keep tabs on yours too! Thanks again for cruisin' through.

BTW. We just ordered a couple sets of bumpers, and we have 4 cheap oly bars. Your oly-bar-snappin has got us worried! :)

Damn. And here I was feeling proud of my 3-minute ring plank. Guess I'll have to try the elbow version when I next get the chance.
